Our unique Reach Out programme allows our Sixth Form students 30 minutes everyday with their form tutor to undertake a programme catered for Sixth Form students.

After morning break, students gather in their form groups and undertake a 30 minute activity designed to help them with their week or help them develop the characteristics required for success after leaving school. Students start the week getting organised and outlining their goals and targets for the upcoming week. Students also have time to organise their folders and notes from class. On Tuesday students learn deeper about their chosen subjects. The middle of the week is spent planning for destinations and developing the skills needed for the workplace. The week ends with reflection on the great community work each student has done and finally a Reach Beyond lesson where students work towards their out of lesson qualifications.

Another component of the Reach Out programme is the enrichment and trip opportunities that are organised for all students. This has included trips to university campuses, activity days at local businesses and talks from leading businesses and higher education consultants.

Setting my goals for the week keeps me focused. I also enjoy reflecting and logging all my Community Action hours. I am hoping to achieve the Gold Community Action Award by the end of the year.
